I went Friday night. I also went Saturday night where the crowd rocked alot more. I was in front row. I was tapping on his shoes, I tugged on his pants and he was laughing. We even put our hands up his pants and pulled down his socks. He had a good laugh. It was the best.

Got this from John's site.

It has been a busy week for some of your favourite Idols. Ricki-lee's brand new single "Hell, No!" has just gone to radio, and the response from them has been fantastic. She has been working constantly - at Nine's Celebrity Circus by day, and filming her video clip by night. The clip was choreographed by the legendary William Forsythe, and features great dancers and a hot, night-time setting. It is currently being edited.
Ricki-Lee joined me in the audience on Saturday night at Marcia Hines' live concert at Crown Casino in Melbourne. Marcia was sensational, belting out hit after hit. With a great band backing her, Marcia demonstrated the vocal power that has kept her at the top of the live performace circuit for many years.
And on Sunday night, I saw Anthony Callea's live performance at the Antheaum Theatre. Amidst the hysterical, frenzied response from the packed Melbourne audience, Anthony and his band shone. Vocally brilliant, our Idol dynamo made the most of his many years' live experience to deliver a world-class performance his fans will remember forever.
Gee Sunday must have been fabulous. I love Friday Night's concert. Thanks Stacy for the forum tag. You are so lucky to have met John and Anthony

I am not sure where to post this. It looks like everyone has started their own thread. It would be great to have all the reviews in one place. Anyway here is mine.
Wow! I am still on a high from attending 3 of Anthony?s Melbourne concerts with family and friends. Overall all the concerts were joyous, uplifting and engrossing experiences for me and my guests. Awesome is the word that sums it up for me. I loved every minute from the first notes Anthony sang off stage at the beginning to the audience eruption with the last song Rang that we all sang with Anthony. The atmosphere was simply electric when Anthony came on stage.
The ballads were beautifully sung . I got the tingles several times when he sang. I can?t make you love me, When I get there, Per sempre. The prayer and Bridge. The lighting was used to great effect, it was mostly dark and moody but it lit up the room when Anthony hit the high notes or climax of the various songs. I just sat there and savored the vocal artistry and passion. Of course he got a standing ovation when he sang the Prayer each time.
There was a beautiful connection between Anthony and the audience. This was really salient during Hero. It was so positive and fun. All the up tempo performances simply raised the roof. Everyone was grooving along with Anthony. He has such great rhythm and sensuality. He seemed very engaged with us, relaxed and natural. His frequent smiles just melted everyone.
There were plenty of young teenage fans and plenty of older people too. The audience ranged from children to elderly. There were families, groups of guys sitting together, packs of teen girls as well as mature and elderly fans. The audience had a fantastic vibe. I myself took a variety of people with me. On the Friday night I took my mum (aged 63) with me. She loved it, particularly the ballads. She has been playing his cd non stop since then! On the Saturday night, I came a friend (both of us 40) we sat with a group of teen girls and had a ball. My friend had come from attending her grandmothers funeral and was emotionally raw. She reported that the concert lifted her spirits with its energy and beauty. Grooving with the young girls in our row made her feel young again. She found his talent to be awesome.
I brought a young refugee family from Iraq to the Sunday matinee. While they like Anthony they did not consider themselves serious fans, they told me that they were blown away by his performance. They had not expected that it would be so good and really enjoyed it. They all gave it 10 out of 10 and have begged me to take them again to his National Concerts. Mum was shocked by the boldness of the girls. When Anthony showed the audience the red g string that was given to him, mum said that would never had happened in her culture.
All the performances were consistently at a very high standard. If there was any variance it had to do with the different audiences. On the Friday night, I found some fans were very rude to Candice Alley. I cringed when they cried ?bring on Anthony? while she was singing. Thankfully this did not happen during the other two concerts. The audience expressed strong appreciation to Candice. While I loved the excitement , passion and energy the young teen girls brought to the concerts, the screaming at the Sunday matinee slightly detracted from my enjoyment of the performance. There seemed to be a tiny bit of tension in my section of the audience between fans who wanted to listen and fans who wanted to scream all the time in packs. The screams came at any time even when Anthony blew his nose! Yet on the Saturday night, there was a great camaraderie between everyone in the audience and we had fun with the screaming girls.
My heart goes out to the young girl who suffered at seizure at the Sunday matinee. Her mother or carer started to call out while Anthony was singing Bridge over Troubled water. The security quickly got the paramedics. I wish her the best and hope that she is okay.
A big thank you to Anthony, the band and management for the fantastic entertainment.

last night i went to anthony's concert and it was one of the best concerts i have ever been to.. and this is coming from someone who has been to about 15 concerts in the last 2 years.
He was really comfortable with the crowd and he grooved like i've never seen before... i was like
anyway he sang really well and it was evident that the concert was also abit of a family renunion for the callea's.
at the end of the concert i went up and had a photo with the very pretty Mrs Callea. She is very nice and soooo pretty... Also very tiny.
After the concert (i was with my mum and sister by the way) we went outside and spoke to Anthony's aunty who is also very pretty and really nice, talking to her about the concert, how much she liked it and the way she came to 2 concerts because she had sooo much fun.
Then my mum, my sister and i spoke to Anthony's mum, Mrs Callea, for about 10 minutes about the record deal, what he was like growing up, and his voice. She is sooooo nice. She's gorgeous. Anyweay towards the end of our conversation i go to her, lease get anthony to e-mail Cherie and she's so cute she was like ok and smiled.
I saw anthony's whole family except his brother who couldn't make it. I even had a photo with anthony's nonna... She's adorable... My final comment to my mum was, "i can see myself having family christmas dinners with the callea's!!!"
anyway anthony's vocal driven performances were bliss to my ears. He can sing... and his family just put the icing on the cake... all so nice.
Anthony, if you read this tell your mum she is gorgeous, which i'm sure you already do everyday. I loved meeting everyone on Sunday and you sounded like a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow!!!
I will post photos once they are developed, and if your mum doesnt mind I will post the one of her and myself.
God Bless You Anthony, and feel free to e-mail me
PS. Anthony ask your mum if she remember's me when i get the photo's up.. if she does... it will be like OMG of the centuary!!
PsS. I looked for someone from ACOF to get my forum tag but i couldn't find you, i'm really sorry you made me one for nothing.
forgot to add ... Anthony didn't change oufit this time.. he wore the purple top all night, but at thew start with a jacket...
candice was good also... but way too much screaming the whole might... in parts all you could hear was screaming

Hi Anthony, I hope you get to read my message. I just want to congratulate you on a fantastic performance on Friday the 20th of May in Melbourne. I had been counting the days until the concert and you did not disappoint me. I followed your career all through Idol and you handled everything the judges threw at you with such grace and dignity. You didn't whinge or complain, you just got on with it and gave your heart and soul with every performance. You are such a joy to watch and listen to. I was hoping you would sing Reasons, and I wanna know what love is, and the glory of love in your concert, but never mind mabee next time.
It's ok though because you sang all of my other favorites like The Prayer, Bridge over troubled water, and I just love Per Sempre - For Always. It's such a beautiful song, it always makes me cry. Everyone at work laughs at me because I play your CD on my PC with my headphones on and I play it over and over. I also play it in the car and in my CD Walkman on the train on the way to and from work. People ask me if I get sick of playing it over and over, but I never do.
There is only ever been one other performer that I play over and over like that and he is John Farnham so you are in good company. I hope you have as long and as successful a career as he has had and I have no doubt you will.
You seem like a really sweet and humble person, very down to earth, and I am so happy for you that you have achieved your dream. You hold your head up with pride Anthony, because you bring so much joy and pleasure to so many people, and you have earned every bit of your success.
I'm glad you have such a good friendship with Casey, It's a shame we do not hear more of her. I think the record company should maybee do something to promote her a little better than they have. I may not be her biggest fan, but I think she has an amazing voice for someone so young and she deserves the chance.
I am looking forward to your next concert in Melbourne. I'll be there for sure. Maybee you could film one of your concerts and release a live DVD, that would be awesome.
Well I had better go now. I have taken enough of your time.
Take care Anthony, Australia is proud of you.

Oh My God.......what can I say!!!!!!! I am speechless!!
It was such a special night.......
We were in the front row, and Anth was right in front of us, larger than life.. and what a show!!!
His rendition of "The Prayer" brought the house down...he got a standing ovation!!
He was so cute and embarassed about that!
His voice was so strong and clear, even though he still obviously has a cold. He is so brilliant live!!! He did his cute little dance moves, he is such a great mover!!!
He started off with "Hold the Line", which was a great way to get us in the mood...and finished up with "Rain".
(I just realised he didnt sing that John Farnham song, "Don't let it End"..I was looking forward to that.)
From what I can remember he also sang: Dont Tell Me, Obvious, Prayer, BOTW, Wanna Be the One, Take it to the Heart, I Want You, When I Get There, Per Sempre,Lost in Summer, that other song that I hadnt heard before.....someone help me here.....there were definitely more...cant think at the moment...
Anth's throat must still hurt a bit ,cos I notice that in BOTW, he changed some notes so that he wouldnt strain his voice too much.
Anth talked a little, between songs, and stopped for quick sips of peppermint tea.
At the end, when Anth invited us to get up out of our seats, I made a fool of myself when we went to the front and danced like crazy( I'm 43).....even my mother in law was dancing around and she's 74.....it was so funny...both she and I put our hands up for Anth to touch......and he touched her hand and said "Hello Signora" to my m-in -law....some of you may have heard it....he probably thought ...what the f... is this old lady doing?
Anyway, my 9 year old daughter got a smile from Anth, and he noticed her poster...... and that made her night!
After the show, in the foyer, saw Anth's Nonna and Nonna, and some other relos. standing around waiting and talking. And as I was walking out, his brother Matt walked past me in a pink t-shirt that looked rather familiar....??
We waited for a little while for Anth after the show, but had to go. Did anyone get to see him?
Will post some photos when I figure out how to do it...sorry to crap on so long.
