hey guys
i went to the concert it was packed
almost sold out there were 10 tickets i think left.
he had the same costumes as the other concerts.
i loved it
i was at the very front in the middle. table 3 seats 1 and 13.
i held his hand and i got given at the end when they were packing up the song sheet that had the songs he was singing.
a little girl sung parts of Hurts So Bad as well.
i've lost my voice from screaming.
we were about to leave and we saw a crowd outside the showroom and it was because anthony was signing cds, posters, etc. i got a cd, poster and pic signed the poster and pic both said 'Caitlin love anthony'
it was awesome

hey guys

my review..; first and fore most tonight was amazing.. anth was fabulous and i had a ball. he sung most of the songs from anc and some from his first album..

well it all started at 1pm when jubella picked me up at my place. we got to dapto leagues about 1:20pm.. we hsat around and waited until the doors open. jubes and i were lucky enough hear anth do a sound check. we raced up the stairs and gave anth a wave and he waved back

it was time to go in and first of marinez started.. i am not a huge fan i must admit.. they were on for about 3o minutes and then it was time for anth..

he was amazing as i said earlier. he was funny and very entertaining. he sung the prayer soo well and he got a standing ovation so well deserved.. he was very calm and collected. even getting a young girl on stage to sing hsb which was cute.. i am still on a high and will be for some time i think hehe

he did do a signing and i got anc signed and my forum tag.. he now knows who i am.. i was the crazy one in the middle haha.. i got a dvd cover signed for kezza and will send that to her tomorrow..

bella: it was a pleasure to meet u again and i had a blast your such a scream and it was great too see u boogy haha

lena: it was lovely to meet u and your such a lovely lady thanks alot for a great night

jubella: thank you thank you thank you for an amazing afternoon. it was lovely to meet you and your such a lovely person. thank you soo much it was a pleasure..

over all it was the best night ever and meeting anth at the end was icing on the cake..

cant wait for star city.. u rock anth mwa mwa

There was only ONE problem , the show went too quickly :Dbiggrin.gif , but then again I guess I'm a bit greedy , I can never get enough of him ! :rolleyes:rolleyes.gif
They did have posters , I noticed them near the doors but I couldn't see any CDs for sale.

Because they didn't tell the audience about a signing most of the ppl had left, so there was really only a small group Qing up, (some even getting him to sign their tix) , which was nice because Anth wasn't rushed ! I believe that he was flying back to Melbourne after the show, so maybe they didn't want the whole audience there.

A great afternoon, and for those yet to see him at a show , boy are you in for one hell of a treat !
jubella

To Annie , Bella ,Lena and Kittykat it was lovely to meet you all and hopefully our paths will cross again, sooner than later ! smile.gif
It was great to share my passion for Anth with such friendly and equally as passionate ppl as I am.

I went to Dapto as well yesterday afternoon and yes it was a bit different to Rooty Hill on Friday night.

Firstly Dapto Leagues Club is a really lovely club. I don't normally like clubs but this one was an exception. The showroom was only really small. It probably only held about 400 people at the most. I don't think it was completely full although it was hard to see from where I was sitting on the bottom level.

The support act was Martinez and they had a different routine from Friday night. I enjoyed it a lot more than at Rooty Hill, and I was joking this morning that after I've seen them three more times I might be a big fan of theirs. Although I did feel sorry for them because people were continually talking over their playing and nobody was really listening to them at all. Now I know why they said at Rooty Hill - thanks for listening, usually people don't. At the time I thought it was a joke but after yesterday afternoon I gather it wasn't. It's a hard job being a support act.

Then Anthony came out and the small crowd went wild. There was probably only half as many people as on Friday night at Rooty Hill but they made twice as much noise. As Jubella said most of it was coming from the middle tables where we were sitting. It was hard to see the reaction of people in the back section. But I was really surprised about the mix of the audience - there was hardly any kids again, a lot of older people and a large percentage of those were women. So much for him loosing all his older fans by coming out anhd saying he was gay.

He started by singing Stranded and it was basically the same set as on Friday night, but he mixed up the order of the songs a bit and didn't sing Into Your Heart or Now Your Gone.

It was much more relaxed and laid back than on Friday night with Anthony joking and talking a lot more with the audience. His band is really fantastic. One of the best bands I've ever heard. Love Suzie, Mark Amato and the drummer. When he bought the little girl up on the stage to sing the walk like that and the talk like that in Hurts So Bad, that was really cute. She was only about four if that.

I did prefer the Rooty Hill show to the one at Dapto because I thought the sound system in the club was a bit off and ruined a few of the songs. Anyone who had been to the Star City Showroom in Sydney and has had the misfortune of sitting in the side sections will know what I'm talking about when I say the music was distorted at times and occasionally drowned out Anthony's voice, especially in his last song of Addicted To You. They also didn't have the flashy lights as per Friday night. It was definitely a more subdued and laid back show. But the audience loved him and really got into his performance. It was great to see.

They did have posters for $10 and a few signed Cds for $25 for sale. They seemed to be selling a lot of posters. Nearly everyone I saw had one, including me. They didn't have those at Rooty Hill, so I don't know if they will be there at the other concerts. I'm afraid I didn't take any photos this time, but when I go to Star City on Sunday I'll take a few then and post them for you. Can't wait for a repeat performance on Sunday.

The reviews are pretty awesome, not sure there is much more I can add.

Dapto for me was one of the best Anth concerts I have had the pleasure of attending. Thank you Anth for everything! And yes, I am STILL buggered! wink.gif

I have never sang so much and almost knocked Bella out with my moves!
Bella: When is our duet coming out? I had so much fun as always with you!

Not only was Anthony sounding first class but the connectivity and fluidity of the concert was so impressive. He wasn't just a singer on stage but a true performer! Anthony talked about the songs, cracked 'in the moment' jokes, engaged the audience in general banter and got a really young fan on stage to help in HSB.

The only other thing that happened that was cute that may have not have been mentioned was that there was incense burning on stage. At the forefront Anth walked over to it as it had a powerful aroma and Anth suggested to Suzie to give him a massage!

No matter how busy he is, again, Anth always makes time for his fans. Before he was due to catch a plane to Melbourne he still took the time to engage with fans.

Jubella, KittyKat and Annie - we had a blast! You are such down to earth and funny gals. It was a pleasure meeting you all.

Re Martinez: I think they are better suited to a Ricky Martin or Enrique opening gig. Their music is great but not for me.

Anth's guitarist Jason is so much fun, he is pure character!

Melbourne guys you are in for such a treat and that second outfit he wears is just gorgeous, from the shoes to the shirt -pure style!

I am going back for more. I am greedy where Anth's music is concerned!

ALMOST 2 years After the PALAIS Concert ANTHONY performs back in his home town.

Posted Image

Posted Image

One of the most popular young singers in Australia today, Anthony Callea, is coming to The Palms at Crown.

Anthony's career took off when he competed in Australian Idol series two, finishing the series as runner up. His No. 1 hit The Prayer was the fastest selling recording in Australian history, as well as being the highest selling Australian single - going four times Platinum with sales exceeding 280,000 units to date. He received an Aria award for the Highest Selling Single and in 2005 was awarded the Channel V Oz Artist of the Year award. He also received three trophies at the ARIA #1 Chart Awards. He has performed The Prayer for Pavarotti and he recently won an Outstanding Achievement Award from the Australian Gospel Music Awards. Anthony has toured with some of music's best including Diana Ross and Westlife.

Following on from the chart-topping success of his self-titled, multi-platinum debut album, Anthony's new album A New Chapter sees him tackle a broader spectrum of musical styles, from powerful emotive ballads [including Now You're Gone, Heartbeat, Here I Go Again and A New Chapter's first single, Live For Love], through to harder-edged, rock numbers [such as Addicted To You, Runaway, Want You To See, If Only and There's Always Time].

Don't miss your chance to see this vocal powerhouse as he performs songs from his self titled album plus his new album A New Chapter.

Looking forward to reading all your reports. Expect a surprise.!!!!

I hear that ANTHONY'S billboard is advertised between Guy, and upcoming tour of "Elvis" performing the "The Beatles". How great to see all 4 large names in the music industry up in lights. If any Melbourne member can take a picture ACOF would be grateful.

Enjoy the show!!. Looking forward to reading your reviews.

Hi Anthony,

I bought tickets to your Melbourne concert way back in April as a birthday present to myself as I think you are an absolute joy.

I just wanted to thank you for an absolutely awesome night. I have always had the utmost respect and admiration for you Anthony and tonight was no exception.

I took a friend with me tonight and she has never been to one of your concerts before. She always liked you but she was not as big a fan as myself but she said she would come with me because I went with her to Robbie Williams. She was totaly blown away. I don't think I will need to ask twice for her to come with me next time you perform in Melbourne.

I also wanted to congratulate you on your first musical role in Dead Man Walking, I wish I could be in Sydney to see it. Hopefully it may come to Melbourne. If it does I will be there with bells on.

Thank you so much for making my birthday special. You really made my night.

You really are such a joy Anthony.

I wish you all the best for the rest of your tour.

Take care sweetheart,

Muff.

What an awesome night I had tonight, Anth was absolutely fantastic. His performances of 'Here I Go Again' and 'Don't Tell Me' with Susie were both absolutely stunning performances. I also really enjoyed his performances of Stranded, Almost, Runaway and James Morrison's 'Undiscovered'. He also did a cover of Lionel Richie's 'Don't Stop The Music' as part of the encore which was really fun to dance along to. It was great to see Jo & Anth sing Because Of You, I saw them perform it on It Takes Two in the studio and it was my favourite song that they sang on the show and Jo was great. The new band were awesome, Susie was fantastic doing the backing vocals, she sang Diana Ross's 'Upside Down' while Anth got changed backstage, which was superb. After the show Anth did a signing, I wasn't expecting a signing, but so happy there was one. I bought the jumping Anth poster and as he was signing it he said he saw me in the front row and asked me if I enjoyed myself tonight, I was disappointed that 'Now You're Gone' wasn't performed tonight so we asked Anth where was 'Now You're Gone'? and he said it was there jokingly hehe It was such a great night and I can't wait to re-live it again, hopefully with Now You're Gone on the 26th. It was really great to catch up with all you Melbourne ACOF members.

Anthony (Fongo)

MY MELBOURNE CONCERT REVIEW!

anthony, anthony, anthony...HONESTLY! just when u think anth cannot go any higher...HE DOES! i was absolutely BLOWN away from beginning to end of this concert, the ballads were pure BLISS! they uptempo songs were AMAZING! , compared to other tours he seems so much more relaxed and last night he just tore the stage apart, his dancing was going off, if he ever says he cant dance again. im going to use frans lemons on him laugh.gif , my friend steph had never been to an anthony concert before so her expectations were high of korse...and all the way home all she could say was "OMG, how is it possible to love him more" ...my response..." he gets better and better", he involved the crowd so much, especially when he pulled the little girl on stage i think her name was Emily, she looked so AMAZED! laugh.gif , the way he used the stage was great, the song choice i lovedddddddddd...he practically sang all the songs i wanted to hear live, highlights for me would definitely be "dont tell me" the introduction of the song and the way him and Suzie delivered it was AHH! TOO GOOD! to express..runaway of course my album favourite was also my concert favourite!, and how can we forget the amazing delivery of here i go again.. wub.gif , the prayer i dont think i need to elaborate on, still 3 years down the road he gets a standing ovation for it, Anthony set out to make this tour fun and jamming it with the crowd, and i just want to say Anthony, you have yet again achieved a milestone...it was the BEST night everrrrrrrrr, and everyone that is going tonight and throughout the rest of the tour...YOU'RE IN FOR A BLAST! oh! take tissues...my mascara was RUINED! from most of his ballads! laugh.gif

stace ---very tired but VERY SATISFIED FAN! tongue.gif
also.....how can i forget the performance with Jo!! SHE gets BETTER and bettterrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....i loved it

and FINALLY at the signing i had the nerve to have a conversation with....after3bloodyyears

My review = I wanna go again!!

OMG!! Amazing! WOW! OMG!! [tries to elaborate]

Well I went last night to the first concert in Melbourne as you all know lol and the crowd first of all, did raise the roof.
Um ok, first task of the day, trying to remember what happened last night LOL. I had the time of my life
The support act - Very talented indeed. In my dad's words "They didn't just pick up that guitar yesterday!" We both enjoyed their performance

Anthony - Ok.. this may take a while if I remember everything... um
I don't remember all the songs he sung so i'll just comment on the ones I do remember...
He opened with Stranded, He sounded amazing, I was groovin' in my seat.
Then he sung Almost and I nearly cried with joy lol but didn't
Um, Live 4 Love was absolutely beuatiful

Then with The Prayer he opened by saying "This one's for you" and everyone in the crowd went "Awwww!" that too was sooo beautiful, I've never heard it live and might I say, I have found a whole new love for it wub.gif
He was in cheeky, funny, energetic mood last night, a side of him I've only seen a tiny bit of lol. it was great Even "mucking up his english" at once stage lol.
Beacause of You - With Jo, they had a bit of an ontstage chat, she was really really nervous and who could blame her. but she has, and is continuing to improve and their little duet was gorgeous

**thinks**
Oh yeah, Meant 4 Love, Runaway, Try were all reeeally good! with the more dancy song he encouraged us to get up out of seats, which I had a huge urg to do anyway tongue.gif and also clap along to some of them too
Undiscovered AMAzing!!! I thought at one stage though he was nearly going to fall off his chair
He was so cute happy.gif and he put a lot of effort into it.
Hurts So Bad is great everytime you hear it live. it's just once of those really cool songs you can get into and dance along to, and even Anthony invites the crowd to join in. Yes the little girl that he chose to go up on stage was gorgeous and he did the whole "I'm glad they come with/without a return... whatever he said.... lol

By that stage I was one of those people at the front, it was much better and I got some really good shots of him
And Mandy kept me company (thanks) and... aaarg!! *tries not to sound too crazy but..* he held my hand lol

Then at the he said his goodbyes and walked of stage, the crowd screamed and squealed for an encore, banging on tables I think lol even chanting "Anthony..Anthony..Anthony!!!"
He came back on and sang that song that I don't know the name of lol and Addicted to you
the half way through he just stopped singing lol and grinned, I wasn't exactly sure what he wanted, or did that for but the whole crowd just squealed, he laughed then grinned again.. the crowd squealed again, even louder, he laughed again, then just stood there... and the third time we squealed even LOUDer and he laughed abit more then finished the song

___________________________________________

The signing - I ended up toward the back of the line, and didn't move for about 20 mins lol. and Jo came out and had a bit of a chat with a few people. By the time I finally got to Anthony, I got my poster signed.
The thing is though, I can't remember whether he asked me anything or spoke to me lol.. but what's worse: if he did...I just hope I responded
*uploading some pictures now*

OMG OMG OMG I am totally speechless!!!
What a fantastic night!!!

When Anth sang 'Dont Tell Me' I was crying like a little girl. The emotion he showed in that song just made me tingle all over. Unbelievable. I didnt think Anth could get any better but you can see how much more comfortable he is and he just as Fwanniee said KILLED IT!!!! The band is fantastic and Suzie Ahern is just a brilliant singer. It was so much fun.

I went to get my poster signed and he was laughing because his pants were stuck to the velcro of the tablecloth on the table he was signing on. laugh.gif laugh.gif he couldnt stop laughing and trying to get himself unstuck. I told him how Dont Tell Me was so emotional and fantastic and he said "Thanks Connie" OMG he remembered me. I didnt even have a Tena Lady on hand

I have the biggest headache at the moment but I will be ready and rearing to go for tonight. One down 3 to go - SSSSPPPPAAAAZZZZZZ!!!!!!

In one word "BRILLIANT"

WOW!!!
I forgot how one man with so much talent, passion and purpose always exceeds my/our expectations.

Firstly, we arrived late, Laura was 1.5 hours coming back from her skiing camp, and she was weary, feverish and tired. I knew it would only take one voice, one wave, one smile, one handshake to overcome the current state she was in. Just like a movie script Anthony didn't let me down.

Scanning the audience like a lioness protecting her lion cub, I wanted to see the demographic
Of the audience, I wanted my own personal feedback. A lot has happened in the last 3 years I wanted to know what Anthony's audience was thinking. I can honestly say the audience has shifted for Anthony. I can't tell you how much my eyes smiled to see that his fans are so much more mature expect for myself. I simply can't help myself I grew up in the 70's and 80's were music was alive and made you move, plus I am a very vocal Collingwood supporter, what more can I say. The 13 years that began their journey 3 years ago have grown with him are know almost 17 much more mature and still there. Not so many younger fans, early twenties, thirties, forties and the mature mums.

The mood whilst strutting into the venue was electrifying, you could sense the evening was going to be something special. As we placed ourselves in the front row I was pleasantly surprised to see Foobs sitting on my table. I knew that this evening would be filled with a breath taking performance filled with fun and laughter. It didn't let the mums down. Lol. Coupled with Connie, Fwannie, Carol, Mandy, Alyssa and other ACOF members on the other side of the centre we would have an amazing evening.
Just like coming getting together for a dinner party with Anthony as the special guest performing for us all.
Secondly, one needs to know I know nothing about music, nothing, don't know how to play an instrument not hold a single note, expect in the shower. Hmm. Having said that I can't relay any technical aspects of his performance nor the band.

Anthony opened with rockin' performance of Stranded. It was Anthony's stage, his band, his home town, his fans, his family, his night to stand, deliver and move the audience with his voice, and passion.

The highlights for me were many. During Anthony's performance of his ballads, I would sit close my eyes and allow him to take me to another place and time. Wether it was the beach, a boat, a dinner party and event anywhere my mind which would allow me to feel and respect the magic of the performance. The Prayer has a line which I think truly reflects Anthony as a performer, L'eterna Stella sei- The Eternal Star you are. His performance of this breathe taking song was like an eternal moment that peaked just at the correct places; the audience peaked with him and respected the delivery with a standing ovation. As the lioness scanning again I could hear non acof members just commenting on his golden voice. I think people need to realise that we are used to the brillance of his voice. Audience members are silent and just place their hands on their heart and are just sit in speachless mode, in shock.

Don't Tell Me. WOW.. WOW WOW.. Every lyric, every note he delivered it with so much conviction, this is his song for his fans conveying his message. The passion and the purpose for penning this song were in every second of his performance. A performer can sing a song and sing it well, during a ballad a performer will choose to sit or stand to deliver a performance. Anth choose to sit on a stool and only move when we wanted to display his passion. I must admit a shed a few tears during this performance as I wiped my tears, the lioness scanned the crowd to see their reaction. Connie was wiping hers and I could see other audience members that had also taken the same trip.

Undiscovered: OMG I so want a recording of this song. It was amazing. A favourite. You need to hear it.

Here I go Again. I found a new respect for this song after the live performance. Awesome.

Runaway, If Only, Rain, Hurt So Bad, Addicted to You.. These songs would allow us to go and groove to his music. Fantastic. An opportunity to bring out the 70's-90's moves Foobs.

After the show I chatted to Jo where we discussed Anthony's amazing performance, in contrast to Collingwood's dismal performance of last week, our expectations of the finals, and Broadie no longer playing for the remainder of the year. It was like having a conversation with a life long friend who shared simular passions, until we realised people wanted photos and autographs .oops

Like a lioness again during signing I scanned the audience to hear their responses. The loved his voice, performance and I think you will see a few more audience members' book more tickets. It was great scanning the crowd to see romadreamer, secretsquirel, mucha, robinson, kara, jen, carol, mandy, edmila, Fongo (what a beauty you are) candy, sarah-ann, plus so many more. See you all again tonight.
The only thing we all wanted was heartbeat, Now You're Gone and more and more.!!!

Anthony has given so much to his fans over the last 3 years, countless songs, and performances, delivered with his trademark of differention each time. The press have learnt to respect him as a performer and songwriter, a court judge praising him. The magically journey of being an Anthony Callea fan has many chapters. It has been a pleasure to witness the evolution of Anthony as #1 performer and songwriter, a pleasure to support him along his journey. This lioness will always be a lioness, but a lioness with a smile a smile that appreciates and respects the Man and his music and all my friends I have met along this amazing journey.

SLow it down in between songs so the show goes longer.
Anthony- L'eternal Stella sei.

Thank you for your music!
